Caroline and Dennis,
Well the 2008 Canadian Nats are now the books! This year the Nationals were held in Sudbury Ontario Canada (approximately 5 hours due north of Toronto). This event was extremely well organized with Contest directors Lee Prevost and Craig Knight as well as Co-CD Bob Hudson. On top of the great flying and tons of prizes for all 46 pilots who attended, this years Nats was packed with lots of excitement over the 3 day event which included, dinner @ the field Friday evening and a banquet Saturday night. On behalf of all the competitors, thank you Dennis and Caroline for supporting this event and donating many prizes!
Attached is a picture of my 40% Extra 300 – finished 1st in Unlimited!! I built this airplane new for the 07' season and currently have well over 300 flights on it. Guidance for this spectacular ship is Futaba throughout (of course) with 2 - 9152's on the Rudder, a single on each elevator and 2 – 9155's per aileron. Power is from an awesome DA 150 on MTWs turning a Mejzlik 30 x 12 @ an incredible 6280 RPM on the ground. I want to thank Kevin Reinhart from Kitchener, ON for loaning me his back up motor prior to the Nats (one of my inverted harriers got a little too low…) the spinner is all aluminum from Revolution Spinners. I also utilize a complete set of wing bags from Caroline when transporting the aircraft to prevent hanger rash.
In the Unlimited Class, there were 8 pilots and 6 were flying Cardens!
Here are some results for Unlimited:
1 – Guillaume Saucier – Carden 300
2 – Nicolas Pinzon – Carden 330
3 – Dennis Plante – Carden 260
4 – Steve Dionne – Carden 300
5 – Dave Dietrich – Carden 260
8 – Mike Clemmens – Carden 260
Once again, big thanks for the support from: Carden Aircraft, Futaba and Revolution Spinners!
I'll be sending more pictures for your pleasure in the next few days.
Thanks,
Guillaume Saucier
